Last weekend, I combined two of my favorite things: travel and baseball. I headed to Baltimore to see an Orioles game, plus spent a day exploring one of the most important parks in our nation, Fort McHenry. Fort McHenry played a pivotal role in the War of 1812. It successfully prevented the British navy from heading into the harbor and setting the city on fire, the way it had Washington, D.C. Fort McHenry is also the birthplace of “The Star Spangled Banner,” you might (or might not) recall from your childhood history lessons.
Since Independence Day was just a few short days away, I was inspired by the sight of Old Glory to shoot this Vine video. In the background, you can hear a fife and drum corp playing. (Click the audio icon in the upper-left corner.)
Let freedom ring!
